Welcome to SYNC!

Virginia Road Map - VA Road Map - Virginia Highway Map

Today’s healthcare teams face a growing need for interprofessional collaboration, creative problem solving, and impactful leadership training to drive organizational performance. SYNC is an innovative, team-based learning experience that teaches collaboration and leadership through hands-on problem solving.

To date more than 40 SYNC teams from across Virginia have engaged in collaborative learning and action to improve health and health care.  The benefits can be seen in individual growthstronger teams, and innovative capstone projects that create positive impact for organizations and communities.

In SYNC we recognize that today’s health challenges cannot be met by any single discipline or sector working alone. Collaborative teamwork is essential, and in many cases clinical-community partnerships can provide breakthrough solutions that no single organization can accomplish on its own.

We also know it can be difficult to find time for professional learning in today’s work environment.  That’s why SYNC is specially designed to help teams engage in applied learning within a time-efficient format.

  • The SYNC topics are focused on essential skills for 21st century healthcare including interprofessional collaboration, leadership fundamentals, creative problem solving, and individual and team wellness.
  • The SYNC learning experience includes five (5) virtual learning sessions, one (1) in-person learning session, an applied capstone project, exposure to expert faculty and peer learning, consulting support, and continuing education credits.
  • The resulting value of SYNC can be seen in positive impacts on individuals, teams, organizations, and communities.
  • This activity has been approved for AMA, PRA Category 1 Credit, Continuing Nursing Education and Continuing Pharmacy Education.
